Poker is a card game played by two or more players. The cards are arranged in rows, and the object of the game is to make the best five-card hand. Each player makes a bet at some time during the game, putting chips (representing money) in a pot when it is their turn to act. Players may raise or call a bet, or fold when they don\u2019t want to continue betting.<\/p>\n

One of the most important aspects of poker is understanding how to read your opponents. There are a number of tells that you can pick up on from the way they bet, their body language and their overall demeanor. The more you play and watch others playing, the better you will get at reading your opponents.<\/p>\n
Once all the players have their 2 hole cards, a new round of betting begins, starting with the player on the button (or in seats directly to his left). Once someone says \u201craise,\u201d everyone must either call that bet or fold their cards into the dealer.<\/p>\n
At this point there are 5 community cards revealed on the table called the flop. There is another round of betting, and then the river card is dealt. Depending on the rules of your game, you can also draw replacement cards during or after the betting. This can help you improve your chances of making a good hand later on in the game.<\/p>\n
