When playing poker, a dealer is appointed for each round. He or she is responsible for shuffling the deck and dealing the cards to the players. In some games, a non-player is appointed as dealer for the entire game. This position rotates between the players, who take turns. Each player gets one dealer chip, which designates the dealer of a new round. Once the dealer has dealt all the cards, the player must pass the dealer’s chip to the next dealer.
